Age is a state of mind. You’re only as old as you believe you are.
Today, as I celebrate my birthday, I find myself filled with gratitude and happiness, for this day has been nothing short of wonderful.
Being a Thursday, my birthday started off like any other weekday. I went to work, where the usual hustle and bustle surrounded me. However, knowing it was my special day added a subtle sparkle to the ordinary routine. I planned to work a half-day, which meant I had the afternoon free to indulge in some personal time.
An Enjoyable Lunchtime With Colleagues
One of the highlights of my day was the lunch outing with a few close colleagues. We decided to visit a popular Japanese restaurant. The meal was delicious and I fully enjoyed my sushi.
What made this lunch memorable was Andy’s kind gesture. Just as we were about to settle the bill, Andy insisted on paying for my meal to celebrate my birthday. It was a very generous and unexpected surprise.
A Thoughtful Gift from Emma & Colleagues
Back at the office, another heartwarming moment awaited me. Emma, one of my colleagues, handed me a beautifully crafted birthday card. She had gone the extra mile by getting everyone in the office to sign it. The card’s front featured a nostalgic Pacman scene, which immediately brought a smile to my face.
Sweet Indulgence
No birthday is complete of course without a treat, and for me, that treat came in the form of chocolate cookies from Marou. I decided to indulge myself and bought a few. Each bite was a little piece of heaven, adding a sweet note to my special day.
An Afternoon of Study
After my half-day at work, I dedicated my afternoon to studying for my MSc. It was a productive session, and I felt good about making progress toward my academic goals.
An Evening of Relaxation
As the day transitioned into evening, it was time to unwind and indulge in some leisurely activities. I decided to play Baldur’s Gate 3, a game I’ve been thoroughly enjoying. Immersing myself in its rich storyline and complex characters was a perfect way to relax and have fun.
Following the gaming session, I watched a movie that had been on my watchlist for a while, The Showman. It was a captivating film, and I found myself lost in its musical numbers. The cast were outstanding!
Birthdays are a reminder of the beautiful connections we have with the people around us and the importance of taking time to appreciate and celebrate ourselves. Today has been a perfect blend of work, treats, and relaxation, making it a birthday to remember.
